Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, growing up in low-income housing projects, fatherless and having lost his mother to HIV/AIDS when he was a senior in high school and watched his brother spend most of his life in Georgia’s penal system, IronE still overcame his troubled childhood to attend the University of Georgia (UGA) on academic and football scholarships where he completed a double major in Theatre and Speech Communications and served as president of the Black Theatrical Ensemble. IronE received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Humanitarianism , Honoris Causa and was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for his great humanitarian efforts as an artist (actor, author, musician and motivational speaker) known around the world.
